CRINKLE SUNFLOWER COOKIES

Ingredients:

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3 large eggs -- slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups regular oats -- uncooked
1 cup flaked coconut
1 package salted sunflower kernels -- (4 oz.)
 

Preparation / Directions:

Combine shortening and sugar, creaming well; beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, soda, and salt; mix well. Add remaining ingredients, stirring until blended. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets; bake at 350 F for 13 to 15 minutes or until edges brown. 9 1/2 dozen.
