Preparation / Directions:

NOTE: THIS DISH MAY BE PREPARED WITH ALMOST ANY
OTHER FRUIT BESIDES APPLES: APRICOTS, PEACHES, CHERRIES,
BLACKBERRIES, BLUEBERRIES, PLUMS, PRUNES, ETC.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Combine the apples, sugar and flour in a saucepan.
Slowly bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until it thickens.
Prepare only half the usual amount of basic shortcake dough.
Place the dough in a well greased (8" x 8") pan.
Cover it closely with the hot fruit.
Dot the fruit with the butter.
Sprinkle the cinnamon over the fruit.
Bake about 30 minutes.
Serve hot with cream.
