Green Tomato Chutney 2

Ingredients:

3 pound green tomatoes -- 1 1/3 kg
1/2 pound onions -- 225 g
1/2 pound apples -- 225 g
1 pint vinegar -- 570 ml
1/2 pound demarera sugar -- 225 g
1/2 ounces mixed pickling spice -- 15 g
2 tablespoons salt
 

Preparation / Directions:

Cut up tomatoes. Peel and chop apples and onions. Tie spice in muslin bag. Put all ingredients in saucepan and boil until tender and thick. Remove spice and pour into hot dry jars. Tie down. Spice vinegar may be used instead of mixed spice.
