Cocoa-Fig Bars (Family Favorite Cookies)

Ingredients:

3/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup walnuts -- chopped
1 cup california dried figs -- chopped
 

Preparation / Directions:

1. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 2. Work in flour, cocoa and baking powder; add nuts, figs and milk. 3. Drop by spoonfuls on greased baking sheet; bake in preheated 375 F. oven 10 to 12 minutes. 4. Cool on cookie sheet 5 minutes; remove to rack.
