Chocolate Sauce Supreme

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 large egg -- beaten
1 dash salt -- (optional)
1 pound powdered sugar -- approximately
1 1/2 ounces baking chocolate -- (1 1/2 to 2)

Preparation / Directions:

In a double boiler (follow the usual rules for using same) melt the butter, add the egg, salt, the confectioners sugar (amount depends on the size of your egg and consistency desired), and the squares of baking chocolate (depends on your chocolate fix needs!) mix gently till smooth. Serve over ice cream; ice cream and cake; pound cake or just take a spoonful when no one is looking.
