Preparation / Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Grease cookie sheets. Combine butter, flour, sugar, cream and salt in medium heavy saucepan. Add almonds, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until butter melts. Remove from heat, stir well.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of batter 6 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. (Bake only 4 cookies per sheet) Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until cookies are deep golden brown arond edges. Let cookies stand on cookie sheets 2 minutes. Remove to wire rack and cool.
Melt chocolate in small, heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Tilt saucepan to pool chocolate at one end, dip edge of each cookie in chocolate, turning cookie slowly so entire edge is tinged with chocolate. Let cookies stand on wax paper until chocolate is set.
