TX and CA White Girl Chili with beans and a Kick

This is the best of CA and TX Chili. Trial, tribulation, error and love all come together in sweet perfection.


2 pounds ground sirloin
1 package Carroll Shelbys Chili Kit
1 medium onion, cut in 1/4 or 1/8 inch chunks
1/2 medium green bell pepper, cut in 1/4 inch chunks or smaller
1/2 medium red bell pepper, cut in 1/4 inch chunks or smaller
1/2 medium serrano pepper, cut fine
2 medium carrots, cut fine
1/2 can beer
16 ounces Bushs pinto beans (or SandW)
16 ounces Bushs chili beans (or SandW) mild sauce
16 ounces Kidney beans
14 ounces diced tomatoes, no extras
8 ounces tomato sauce
1 3/4 cup water

Preparation / Directions:

brown beef with bell peppers, garlic, carrots, serrano, onion. Drain fat, I use a collendar. Put beef mix in stock pot. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, beer, water, 1/2 to 2/3 pack chili with carroll shelby kit, 1/2 salt pack carroll shelby kit, 1 pinch to 2 pinches cayenne pepper in carroll shelby kit, add beans, water, cook to boil, then reduce heat, cover, stir every 5 minutes for 2 hours. Enjoy!
