Preparation / Directions:Mix together the blackeyed peas, water, 4 teaspoons chili powder, cumin
seeds, garlic, cayenne pepper, onions, bell peppers and turkey in the
crockpot. Cover and cook on the HIGH heat setting for 1 hour. Reduce
the setting to LOW and continut cooking, covered, three hours longer or
until the peas are tender. Stir in the remaining chili powder, the
tomatoe paste, and salsa. Serve topped with scallions, tomatoes, cheese
and a dollop of sour crea.
