Molasses Popcorn With Peanuts

Ingredients:


1/2 cup sugar

2/3 cup dark molasses

1/3 cup water

1 tablespoon vinegar

1/4 cup salt

1 tablespoon margarine

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

5 cups popped -- corn

1 1/2 cups peanuts -- shelled
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Mix sugar,molasses, water, vinegar, and salt; cook until syrup becomes brittle when a little is tried in cold water (270 degrees on a candy thermometer). 2. Add margarine and baking soda. 3. Stir well and pour gradually over popped corn and peanuts, tossing until cool.
