Preparation / Directions:
Combine sugar and milk in heavy sauce pan. Cook over medium heat to a soft ball stage, stirring occasionally. Add dates. Cook, stirring constantly untilmixture is very thick and will leave the sides of the pan when stirred. Remove from heat. Stir in coconut and nuts. Cool just a little. Turn on wet towel. When cool enough to handle and hold shape, roll in the towel. Place in refrigerator and chill. Make a roll 2 inches in diameter (about 18 inches long) Wrap in moisture proof paper. Seal, label, date and freeze. Will keep 6 months. To serve: Let thaw to room temperature. Slice into thin rounds.
