1 cup Dixie Crystals granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup white corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon red food coloring
6 medium apples
6 skewers wooden skewers

Preparation / Directions:

First wash, stem apples. Then mix Dixie Crystal sugar, water, food coloring and corn syrup in a boiler over moderate heat. Cook to 250 degrees or until a hard yet flexible thread is formed when some of the syrup is dropped in cold water. Remove syrup from heat and dip apples, turning them to insure uniform coverage. Place on wire rack to cool.
