1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa -- plus 3 tablespoons
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine -- melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cups boiling water

Preparation / Directions:

This recipe for 3 1/2 quart Crock-Pot. Mix 1 cup brown sugar, the flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, and salt together in a mixing bowl. Stir in the milk, butter, and vanilla. Spread over the bottom of the Crock-Pot. In another bowl, mix together the 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Sprinkle evenly over mixture in the Crock-Pot. Do not stir. Pour in the boiling water. Do not stir. Cover and cook on High 2 to 3 hours until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Serve war with ice cream or whipped topping if desired.
