Moist Chocolate Cake

2 1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup crisco butter flavored shortening sticks
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons soda
1 cup hot coffee

Preparation / Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to cream mixture. Mix well. Add coffee LAST. Grease and flour 3 layer cake pans and line bottoms with parchment paper. Pour mixture into the pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Frost with favorite chocolate frosting.
