Milky Way Cake

Ingredients:


6 bars milky way candy bars -- (or 13 fun size)

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

4 large eggs -- beaten

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/4 cups buttermilk

2 teaspoons vanilla

1 cup chopped nuts

---TOPPING---

1 package ghirardelli milk chocolate chips -- 15 1/2 ozs.

1 stick butter

1 cup marshmallow cream

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup evaporated milk
 

Preparation / Directions:


Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Melt bars and 1 stick butter in double boiler. Mix well. Cool, set aside to add to the batter. Cream sugar with other stick butter. Add eggs one at a time. Alternate flour (to which baking soda has been added) with the buttermilk to the mixture. Add candy mixture, vanilla and nuts. Pour into a greased 9X13 pan and bake 45 to 60 min. at 325 degrees. TOPPING: Combine sugar and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil and cook to soft ball stage, 235 degrees. Add chips, butter, marshmallow cream and vanilla. Remove from heat. Beat until right for smooth spreading.
