Cinnamon Raisin Coffee Cake

1 1/2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup soft shortening
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons margarine -- melted
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins or chopped walnuts

Preparation / Directions:

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl; then cut in shortening. Beat milk, egg, and vanilla together and combine thoroughly with dry ingredients. Combine filling ingredients. Place about 2/3 of cake mixture in a 9-inch round greased and floured cake pan. Top with filling and add remaining cake mixture. Bake at 375 F for 30 minutes.
