Ingredients:

2 Cup sifted cake flour
1/2 Cup shortening
1 1/2 Cup sugar
1/3 Cup cocoa
2 large eggs
1/2 Cup milk
2 teaspoon baking soda in milk
1 Cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla
 

Preparation / Directions:

Cream the shortening, then add sugar, cocoa, and eggs. Beat well. Add the flour and then the baking soda. Add boiling water and vanilla. Rub butter or lard into a cake pan and pour in the batter. Bake for 30 min. at 350 degrees.
