Ingredients:

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/4 cup butter -- (not margarine)

4 medium ripe bananas -- peeled and quartered

1 dash cinnamon

1/2 cup light rum -- (dark will do if its all you have, just darker)

1/4 cup banana liqueur

1 pint good vanilla ice cream -- (like Haagen Dazs)

Preparation / Directions:

Melt brown sugar and butter in a chafing dish or skillet, stirring often. Add bananas and sauté just until soft. (DON'T OVERCOOK.) Heat rum and banana liqueur in a small saucepan. Pour over bananas, but DO NOT STIR into liquid. CAREFULLY light liquor in chafing dish and keep spooning sauce over bananas until flames die. Scoop ice cream into 4 large dessert dishes (large brandy snifters look beautiful if for company). Spoon bananas and sauce over and serve immediately. From Michelle Bass Serves
