Oatmeal Scotchies

Ingredients:


1/2 cup butter or margarine

1/2 cup vegetable shortening -- butter flavored

1 1/2 cups brown sugar -- packed

2 large eggs

1 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon orange extract

2 cups flour

1 1/2 cups oatmeal

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

12 ounces butterscotch bits
 

Preparation / Directions:


In a large mixing bowl, cream together, butter, shortening, sugar, and eggs. Add water and extract and mix well.Add dry ingredients, mix thoroughly. Stir in chips just until mixed throughout. Drop onto a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375 until cookies are only slightly soft in the center. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack. These Cookies Freeze very well.
