Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients:


2 2/3 Cup sugar

2/3 Cup shortening

4 large eggs

16 ounces can solid pack pumpkin

2/3 Cup water

3 1/3 Cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cloves

1 Cup raisins

1 Cup coarsely chopped walnuts
 

Preparation / Directions:


Preheat oven to 350#161#. Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans. (9x5x3) Mix sugar and shortening in large bowl. Mix in eggs, pumpkin, and water. Blend in flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour in pans. Bake 1 hour and 10 min (until toothpick comes out clean in center). Cool 5 min.; remove from pans. Cool completely before slicing.
