Yellow Cornbread

Ingredients:


1 cup flour

1/4 cup sugar

4 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup yellow cornmeal

2 large egg

1 cup milk

1/4 cup shortening
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cornmeal-mix well in another bowl, combine eggs, milk, and shortening-mix well add to flour mixture, stir to blend, and beat just until smooth pour into a lightly-greased hotel pan or skillet bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean serve warm or at room temperature
