Sourdough White Bread

Ingredients:


2 tablespoons dry yeast -- (2 pkg.)

2 cups warm -- (120) water

2 cups culture

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

8 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt
 

Preparation / Directions:


Dissolve yeast in warm water, mix with oil and culture. Add flour and salt mix well. Turn onto floured board and knead until smooth and elastic. Grease bowl well. Place dough in bowl turn to grease top, cover, let rise, in a warm spot, until double in size. Punch down, shape into loaves, place in three well greased loaf pans, let rise until nearly double again. Place in oven and bake about 30 minutes or until loaves sound hollow when tapped, at 375. Remove from pan immediately and butter tops of loaves. Put on wire rack to cool. Cover with waxed paper then with a towel for a soft topped loaf. Makes 3 loaves
