Sourdough Caramel Rolls

Ingredients:


---ROLLS---

1 tablespoon dry yeast -- (1 pkg.)

1 cup warm -- (120) water

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 cup culture

4 cups flour

2 tablespoons sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

---SYRUP---

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup butter

1 teaspoon light corn syrup

2 tablespoons melted butter to spread on dough

1 teaspoon sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle on dough
 

Preparation / Directions:


In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oil and culture,mix, then add dry ingredients. Mix completely. Turn onto floured board, knead until smooth and elastic. Grease bowl put dough in and turn to grease top. Let rise until double . Meanwhile in a small saucepan, combine sugar, sugar, butter, and syrup, heat until melted, pour into pan, set aside. Punch dough down, roll into rectangle, spread with melted butter, sprinkle with sugar than cinnamon. Roll up as for jelly roll. Slice about 1/2 inch thick, place cut side down into 8 X 8 X 2 pan. Cover, let rise until nearly double. Bake for about 30 minutes at 375. Immediately invert onto plate upon removing from oven. Makes 16 Rolls.
