Sausage Bread with Frozen Dough

1 pound ground sausage
1 medium Onion -- chopped
1 loaf loaf frozen bread dough -- thawed
1 can mushrooms -- optional
1 large egg -- beaten
8 ounces mozzarella Velveeta or cheddar -- shredded

Preparation / Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350ΓΈ. Fry the sausage and onion together. Drain. Spray or grease a cookie sheet. Shape your dough into a rectangle and brush with half the beaten egg. Place the sausage and onion on top to within about an inch of the sides. Add the mushrooms and top with the cheese of your choice. Roll the dough into a loaf, tucking in the ends. Brush the top with the remaining egg. Bake 30 minutes. Cool some before you cut it.
