Indian Fry Bread

3 cups flour
1 1/3 cups warm water
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Cup cooking oil -- heated

Preparation / Directions:

Mix together all ingredients except cooking oil. Knead slightly and let rest an hour or so. Form into balls and then work into circles with hands..pulling and stretching the dough. Leave a small hole in center. Fry in hot oil til golden brown. Can be served many ways. Great topped with green chili, lettuce and monterey jack cheese. Or make a Navajo Taco by topping with chili, lettuce, chopped onion, chopped tomato, olives, shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream. Or just eat with honey and powdered sugar on it.
