HOLIDAY TURKEY DRESSING

Ingredients:


1 pound bulk sausage meat

8 cups cornbread stuffing crumbs

8 tablespoons butter

1 large onion -- minced

3 stalks celery -- minced

2 tablespoons Nantucket Off-Shore Seasonings Holiday Turkey Rub.

2 medium apples -- peeled, cored -- cut into 1/2 inch

1 cup dried cranberries diced

2 cups chicken broth

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground

1 teaspoon pepper
 

Preparation / Directions:


Brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking the meat into small bits with the back of the spoon, 15-20 minutes. Combine the browned sausage with the cornbread crumbs in a large mixing bowl. Mekt the butter over medium heat in the same skillet. Add the onion, celery and Holiday Turkey Rub and saute until the vegetables are quite soft, 10-12 minutes. Add the apples and saute 3 minutes more. Combine this mixture with the sausage and cornbread, mixing well. Stir in the dried cranberries into the stuffing and moisten all with the chicken broth. season with salt and pepper. Stuff the turkey with the stuffing or spead it into a large buttered casserole and bake in a 325 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour. 24 servings
