Country Custard Corn Bread

4 large eggs yolks
3 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 Cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Cup milk
4 teaspoon lemon juice
1 Cup all-purpose flour
3/4 Cup cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 Cup heavy cream

Preparation / Directions:

Grease an 8-inch square baking dish. Warm the dish in the oven while making the batter. In a large bowl beat the egg yolks and butter until blended. Add the sugar, salt, milk, and lemon juice, and beat well. Sift together the flour, cornmeal, baking soda, and baking powder. Add the dry ingredients to the eggs and mix until there are no lumps. Pour the batter into the heated dish. Without stirring, pour the cream into the center of the dish. Bake at 350 F for 1 hour or until lightly browned. Serve warm with fresh fruit.
