Great Depression Sausage

In hard times it was made with wild game.But when easier times came my Gramps made it with roast beef.
 

Ingredients:


1 pound beef chuck cover meat with water and simmer till done. reserve broth. grind beef in a meat grinder

1 large grind one large onion

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 Tablespoon cinnimon

1/2 teaspoon allspice

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper
 

Preparation / Directions:


1 pound beef chuck (or any meat) cover meat with water and simmer till done. reserve broth. grind beef in a meat grinder grind one large onion add 1 teas minced garlic 1 Tablespoon cinnimon 1/2 teaspoon allspice 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper measure broth and add equel amount oatmeal and cook till very thick. remove from heat and add to beef mixture. spread on greased cookie sheet and freeze till cool and cut into serving portions and bag and freeze. To serve heat frying pan with butter and fry till good and brown on each side and serve with sorgaum or Karo Syrup.
