Soegogigochubokkum (Stir-Fry Beef And Chillies)

1/2 pound sirloin steak
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 cloves garlic -- finely chopped
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon rice wine or dry sherry
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 medium red or green fresh chillies
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds

Preparation / Directions:

Slice the beef into thin strips and mix with the soy sauce, garlic, sugar, wine, and pepper. Set aside to marinade for about 1 hour. Remove the seeds from the chillies and cut into very thin strips. Heat the oil in a frying pan and stir-fry the chillies briefly (about 2 minutes). Transfer to a dish. Stir-fry the seasoned beef for about 4-5 minutes. Return the chillies to the pan, mix well, and stir-fry again for another few minutes. Transfer to a platter, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve at once.
