Beef Stroganoff

1 medium round steak
1 clove garlic
2 tablespoons flour
1 large onion -- chopped
1 pound sliced mushrooms
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can water
1 Cup sour cream

Preparation / Directions:

Cut a clove of garlic in half and run it over the surface of a round steak. Slice the steak thin and toss with a couple tablespoons of flour. Brown Add one large onion, chopped and saute till soft [Add] all 1# sliced mushrooms. [Combine soup water, add to meat and] simmer til meat is tender sitr in some sour cream, do not allow to boil serve. My father is a minister and we would have alot of company and this was something my mom would make that was tastey yet economical and there never were any leftovers I just made this stroganoff again last night. Has been a staple in our family since it was published in our local paper. Its the recipe from Betty Ford when she was in the white house and it can't get any easie
