Preparation / Directions:
*(There are two packages in the box; use only one.)
**(Be careful here! I use the sliced jalapenos in jars and just stir in 1
or 2 tablespoonfuls, but I like the flavor, and the "heat" of the pepper
doesn’t bother me.)
Sort and wash peas.
Place in large Dutch oven or heavy cooking utensil with lid. Cover with two
inches water and soak overnight. Drain.
Add 6 cups water and balance of ingredients. Bring to boil, cover, reduce
heat, and simmer 1 hour or so until tender. Add water as needed, checking
after the first 15 minutes.
TIP: Garnish with sliced jalapeno peppers if desired.
