Veal-Filled Shiitake Caps

Ingredients:


1/2 pound ground veal

1 large egg -- lightly beaten

2 medium green onions (including tops -- minced)

2 tablespoons Ginger flavored Soy Sauce

1 teaspoon chopped cilantro (Chinese parsley)

1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch

16 pieces reconstituted Shiitake

1 tablespoons Hot Chili Sesame Oil
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine filling ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Lightly brush KasugaiTShiitake caps with chili sesame oil. Stuff each Shiitake cap with filling mixture, forming a smooth mound. Place stuffed Shiitake, filling side up, in a large baking pan. Bake in a 400F. oven for 15 minutes or until cooked through. Serve hot. Garnish plate with cilantro springs. They are perfect appetizers that can be made several hours ahead of time for your next get-together.
