Treacle Tart

Ingredients:


6 ounces all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 ounce sugar

4 ounces cold butter

3 tablespoons cold water

1 pound treacle -- or golden syrup

2 ounces fresh breadcrumbs

1 ounce softened butter
 

Preparation / Directions:


Make pastry as per usual. Roll two-thirds to line pie plate; cut the rest into strips for lattice. Mix filling ingredients; spread into pie; place lattice on top. 25-30 mins at 400F / 200C / Gas 6. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream.
