Chinese Stewing Sauce

Ingredients:


3 cups water

1 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup white wine

1/4 cup garlic

2 pieces star anise

3 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons peanut oil
 

Preparation / Directions:


heat oil in a skillet, over a high flame add garlic and saute until lightly colored stir in remaining ingredients reduce flame to medium heat and stir for 15-20 minutes, until thickened strain through a chinois or cheesecloth-discarding solids use as desired
