Ingredients:


2 cups quick-cooking oats

2 cups unsweetened multigrain flakes -- (nutrigrain)

1/2 cup flaked unsweetened coconut

1/4 cup sliced almonds

5 1/2 teaspoons equal for recipes -- or

18 packages equal sweetener -- or

3/4 cup equal spoonful

1/4 cup light apricot preserves sweetened

2 tablespoons margarine

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon maple extract

1 cup dried fruit bits

1 3/4 teaspoons equal for recipes -- or

6 packages equal sweetener -- or

1/4 cup equal spoonful
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine cereals, coconut, almonds, 5 1/2 teaspoons equal for recipes or 18 packets equal sweetener or 3/4 cup equal spoonful in bowl. Heat preserves, margarine, spices and maple extact in small saucepan untill bubbly; drizzle over cereal mixture and toss to coat evenly. Bake mixture on large jelly roll pan in preheated 350 degree oven 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Stir in fruit bits and bake 5 minutes longer. Cool 5 minutes; sprinkle with 1 3/4 teaspoons equal for recipes or 6 packets equal sweetener or 1/4 cup equal spoonful and toss. Cool completely; store in airtight container TIPS Granola can be eaten as a snack or as a breakfast cereal with milk Unsweetened coconut can be purchased in health food stores
