Pickled Herring - 2

Ingredients:


4 fillets herring fillets

2 medium Onions -- sliced

1 piece bay leaf

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 cup vinegar -- up to 3/4

1 cup cold water
 

Preparation / Directions:


Soak herring for 3 or 4 hours in cold water. Wash in cold water and cut into cubes. Prepare a marinade with the remaining ingredients and marinate for 2 days. Drain and serve.
