Sweet Scones

Ingredients:


2 cups flour -- sifted

1 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2 large egg yolks

1/3 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons sugar

3 tablespoons butter
 

Preparation / Directions:


Sift together flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. With pastry blender cut in butter. Beat yolks well and add to cream. Stir egg mixture and flour mixture together into a soft dough. Turn out on floured pastry board and knead 20 times. Roll out 1/2" thick and cut with small round cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Brush tops with egg whites or milk and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 450 until lightly browned.
