Grilled Fruit and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:


8 Ounces monterey jack cheese

1/3 cup Crumbled blue cheese

2 tablespoons Milk

3 ounces cream cheese Softened

8 loaf 1/4-inch slices sourdough -- bread

1 small Ripe, pear -- thinly sliced

1 small All-purpose apple -- Thinly sliced

2 tablespoons Margarine or butter -- soften
 

Preparation / Directions:


Grilled Fruit-and-Cheese Sandwiches. Mix Monterey Jack cheese, blue cheese, milk and cream cheese. Spread about 2 tablespoons on each slice bread. Place pear and apple slices on cheese mixture on 4 slices bread. Place remaining slices bread, cheese side down, on pear and apple slices. Spread tops with margarine.Plac sandwiches, margarine sides down, in skillet. Spread tops with margarine. Cook uncovered over medium heat about 5 minutes or until golden brown. Turn and cook 2 to 3 minutes longer or until golden brown. For a change of pace, use flavored cream cheese for the regular cream cheese, and Swiss, for example, in place of the Monterey Jack.
