A quick tasty pizza when you don't have the time to make pizza dough.

Ingredients:

One 16-18" Italian bread loaf the wide soft kind. One jar or can of pizza sauce. One ounce of extra virgin olive oil. One 8 ounce (will not need all) 5 cheese Italian blend. One 4 ounce package of deli pepperoni (thin). Four white moonlit mushrooms medium and thin sliced.

Preparation / Directions:

Prepare a cookie sheet and line with non-stick foil. Pre-heat the oven to 450 degrees F. Cut the Italian bread loaf in half and then Slice the two halves open like a bun, you now have four faces. Brush with a basting brush each face with olive oil. Cover the faces with pizza sauce. Add the pepperoni, and the sliced mushrooms. Cover with the 5 cheese blend, just use enough to cover the sauce and toppings to the edges about a quarter inch deep (prob about half (4 ounces) the package will do all four). Pre-cook the faces in a microwave for 2 minutes to melt the cheese somewhat so it will brown nicely in the oven. Place on the cookie sheet in the 450 degree preheated oven for five minutes or until the edges start to get dark brown. Remove and let stand one minute. You may cut the faces in more manageable pieces to eat, or just eat them like they are. They will be a nice blend of crunchy and soft pizza flavor. Much better than the frozen kind.

Nutritional Information:

Not certain, but it's lighter than most pizza's, typically you use just enough of the cheese about an ounce per face to cover the topping.
