German Chocolate Pie

Ingredients:


1 package german sweet chocolate -- (4-ounce)

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 can evaporated milk -- (12-ounce)

1 1/2 cups sugar

3 tablespoons cornstarch

1/8 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 crust deep dish pastry shell -- (9-inches), unbaked

1 1/2 cups coconut

1 cup pecans -- chopped
 

Preparation / Directions:


Melt chocolate and butter over low heat; remove from heat. Blend in milk; set aside. Mix together sugar, cornstarch and salt. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Blend in chocolate mixture; pour into pie shell. Combine coconut and nuts; sprinkle on top of chocolate mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
