Creole Hush Puppies

Ingredients:


5 cups self-rising cornmeal

1 can cream-style corn -- (14-2/3 oz.)

1 can diced tomatoes and green chiles -- (14-2/3 oz.)

2 large eggs

2 cups buttermilk

3 medium onions -- chopped

1 medium banana pepper -- chopped

1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

1 teaspoon Creole seasoning

1 Cup Vegetable oil
 

Preparation / Directions:


Stir together first 9 ingredients just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour oil to a depth of 2 inches into a Dutch oven; heat to 375 F. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls into oil; fry 2 minutes or until hush puppies are golden, turning once.
