Apple Pie - Sooz

Ingredients:


6 medium apples* -- (6 cups), peeled/thinly sliced

3/4 cup sugar -- (up to 1cup)

2 tablespoons flour

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon -- (up to 1 tsp)

1 dash ground nutmeg

2 tablespoons butter
 

Preparation / Directions:


If apples lack tartness, sprinkle with about 1 Tablespoon lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour, spices, and dash salt. Mix with apples. Line 9" pie pan with pastry. Fill with apple mixture: dot with butter. Adjust top crust, cutting slits for escape of steam; seal. sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 for 50 minutes or until done. *Or use two 1pound 4 ounce cans pie sliced apples, drained.
