6 large apples

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

1/8 teaspoon ground ginger

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon butter -- cut into bits
