I searched all over the internet for easy horse treats that didn't have any pershable ingreients, to no avail. These little cookies are great because they are simple, cute, and last a very long time.

Ingredients:

---COOKIE:

1 cup Oatmeal (I used quick oats, but whatever you have should work fine)

1/8 cup Sugar

1/8 cup Canola oil

---GLAZE:

1/8 cup Sugar (eyeball it)

1/4 cup Canola oil

1/4 cup Molasses

1/4 cup Water

1 cup Flour

Preparation / Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees . Mix the flour and oats in a large bowl until evenly coated. Then add the water, molasses, and canola oil in that order using the same measuring cup (this is important-the canola oil helps to get more molasses out). Mix the dry ingredients, adding the sugar slowly untill it reaches the desired consistency. Pat the dough out on a floured surface so it is about 1/4 of an inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out the dough into desirable protions (mine were about the size of peppermints, this allows you to feed them more often). Mix the glaze in a small bowl and use the back of the spoon to spread a light layer over the top of the treats. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 12-15 minutes, untill browned. Let set on the trays for another 15-20 minutes so they are cool and hard. Bring to the barn and serve to your equine friends!

Nutritional Information:

The canola oil will enhance the natural shine in your horse's coat, leaving them sparkling in the sunlight!
