Linguine With Cabbage And Smoked Sausage

Ingredients:


1 pound linguine

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion -- chopped

2 cups shredded napa cabbage

2 cups shredded green cabbage

1/2 pound regular or beef smoked -- cut into 1/2- sausage loop inch cubes

1 teaspoon caraway seeds

1/2 cup whipping cream

1 pound linguine

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 pound regular or beef smoked -- cut into 1/2- sausage loop inch cubes

1 teaspoon caraway seeds

1/2 cup whipping cream
 

Preparation / Directions:


Cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water until tender but still firm to bite. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup cooking liquid. Meanwhile, heat oil in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and saut‚ until tender, about 5 minutes. Add cabbages, sausage and caraway seeds and saut‚ 5 minutes. Add cream and reserved cooking liquid and simmer until sauce thickens and cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes. Add pasta and toss to coat. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Makes: 4-6 servings Cabbage and smoky meats like sausage, ham or bacon are natural pairs, as is the addition of caraway seeds. Here I team the duo with linguine for a simple supper.
