English Muffin Bread 3

Ingredients:


6 cups flour

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

2 packages yeast

1 tablespoon sugar

2 cups milk

1/2 cup water

2 teaspoons salt

1 tablespoon cornmeal
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine 3 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda. Heat liquids until very warm, 120-130 F. Add to dry mixture. Beat well. Stir in eough flour to make a stiff batter. Spoon into two 8 1/2x4 1/2" pans, greased and spr inkle with cornmeal. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes. Bake at 400 f. fo r about 25 minutes. Remove form pans. Cool on wire rack. Slice and toast. Makes 16 slices per loaf.
