Sauerkraut And Chops

Ingredients:


4 chops pork chops -- 1/2 inch thick and trimmed

2 tablespoons vegetable oil for browining

1 Medium onion sliced and seperated into rings

1/8 Teaspoon instant garlic flakes

3 Cups drained sauerkraut

3/4 cup apple juice

1 1/2 Teaspoons caraway seed

1/4 Teaspoon salt

1/4 Teaspoon thyme

1/4 Teaspoon pepper

1 cup apple slices unpeeled -- cored, red cooking variety
 

Preparation / Directions:


Brown chops, set aside. Place in a slow cooker hafl of onion rings, garlic flakes, sauerkraut, apple juice, apple slices. Cover slow cooker; cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours.
