HAM LOAF WITH RED CURRANT SAUCE

Ingredients:


1 pound ground ham

3/4 pound ground pork

1 cup Soft bread crumbs

1 medium Onion -- chopped (1/2 cup)

1 large Egg

1/2 cup Milk

-----RED CURRANT SAUCE-----

1/2 cup Red currant jelly

1 1/2 teaspoons Grated orange peel

2 tablespoons Orange juice

1 tablespoon Prepared horseradish
 

Preparation / Directions:


Red Currant Sauce is a sweet, unusual accompaniment for traditional. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients except Red Currant Sauce. Shape mixture into loaf in ungreased rectangular pan, 13 X 9 X 2 inches. Bake 1 to 1-1/2 hours or until done; remove from pan. Spoon red currant sauce over ham loaf. Serve with any remaining sauce. RED CURRANT SAUCE Heat all ingredients, stirring occasionally, until jelly is melted and mixture is smooth.
