Prosciutto-Wrapped Figs

1/2 pound prosciutto
6 medium figs -- fresh or canned, drained
1/2 cup dry white wine -- optional
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Preparation / Directions:

Cut figs into thick bite-size slices. Sprinkle with wine. Allow to sit for 30 minutes, then wrap with prosciutto around each fig slice and secure with a toothpick. Sprinkle with a couple turns of fresh ground black pepper. To obtain the best presentation serve 3 slices per person white serving plates. Serves 6.
