Homemade Pennsylvania Dutch Style Ice Cream

Ingredients:


18 ounce -cans evaporated milk

6 whole eggs -- slightly beaten

2 cups granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 cup fruit -- (strawberries, blueberries, banana)

1 cup fresh milk
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Use one gallon container of ice cream freezer 2. Add eggs, vanilla, sugar and evaporated milk to blender 3. Mix thoroughly 4. Add fruit of your choice or increase vanilla to 3 tablespoons if vanilla ice cream is desired, use liquid Hersheys syrup 1 cup if chocolate is desired 5. At this point go a little crazy depending on your families tastebuds regarding flavors 6. Mix well until all ingredients are well mixed 7. Add to container 8. Fill container with vitamin d milk to full line on ice cream container 9. Add paddles and lid close tightly 10. Place in electric ice cream freezer with crushed ice and ice cream rock salt 11. Observe add salt and ice as needed 12. Usually takes app. 1 hour freeze until container will not turn freely 13. Eat immediately 14. Enjoy
