Midsummer Berry Dessert

Ingredients:


10 ounces vanilla wafer crumbs

3/4 cup butter

2 cups powdered sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1 quart fresh raspberries

1/2 pint whipping cream -- sweetened and whipped
 

Preparation / Directions:


Butter 9" pan. Put half of the vanilla wafer crumbs in pan. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Put butter mixture on crumbs, then walnuts, then berries, then the whipped cream, then top with remaining crumbs. Refrigerate. Serve chilled. Note: This is a very rich dessert. Best when fresh raspberries are used, not frozen. Can substitute strawberries or blueberries for a different taste.
